Park & Playground
In the heart of South Elgin, Seba Park S Water St is a great place to relax and unwind. There are a number of activities that you can do there including fishing, nature preserves, hiking trails and biking paths.
The village recently finished a playground at the park that is fully inclusive for children with developmental or physical disabilities. This was made possible by the South Elgin FUNdation, which raised money for the project for years.
Sadly, the state grant that had been used to pay for the playground has been frozen due to a freeze on the grants by Governor Bruce Rauner. The village will move forward using developer fees to cover the cost, said Kim Wascher, parks and recreation director.
The playground features a treehouse structure that kids can roll into and an eagles nest on top of it, all of which is wheelchair accessible. It also has wide ramps, ADA swings and communication boards for those who use AAC (augmentative and alternative communication).

Bicyclists should be given the same priority as motor vehicles in intersections. They should yield to pedestrians and proceed carefully.
